Triathlon Category Rules

GENERAL RULES

  1.  The purpose is to finish line following, slaloming and labyrinth paths faster, respectively. Those paths are prepared for triathlon category.

  2. Robots must be autonomous. It is forbidden to participate in the competition for non-autonomuos robots.

  3. Robots are going to be taken under surveillance 1 hour prior to start. If there is a robot which does not obey this rule, it will be disqualified.

  4. Duration of the competition is 15 minutes for each competitors.

  5. Ranking is determined by considering total time and penalties calculated by referees.

  6. Robots are not going to be given back to their owners until the start.

  7. Competitors are waited for maximum 3 minutes after announced. If this rule is violated, robot will be disqualified.

  8. If batteries of robot becomes out of charge, it will be allowed to change the batteries.

  9. It is forbidden to leave any sign or trail on the floor.

  10. Robots may use any energy source only if there is no harm to course and audience.

  11. Teams consist of at most 4 people. During the race, only one person deals with the vehicle.

LINE FOLLOWER PART RULES

1-    To complete the track in the shortest time.

•    Roads
1-    The roads are made of black wood.
2-    All the signs and lines are in white color.
3-    There exists one line in the middle of the road. The road ends at a distance of 250±5 mm to the left and right of the line in the middle. The road lines are 19±1 mm wide.
4-    There exists no barrier anywhere on the road.

•    Competition
1-    The race starts when the foremost point of the vehicle is on top of the starting line.
2-    If the vehicle completely leaves the track during the race, the choronometer is stopped by the referee and the race is restarted from the projection of the point to the middle line where the vehicle left the vinyl. This situation results in a 5 second penalty.
3-    Unless the vehicle does not completely leave the track, the robot cannot be interfered. The right to interfere with the robot can be given by the referee on other conditions also, and this right results in a 5 second penalty.
4-    Every vehicle races one by one, in a row. The order is determined by drawing lots right before the race, with the participation of one representative from each team.

•    Other

* The drawings of the track can be found from the competition website.

SLALOMING PART RULES

2- The track is 1 meter wide and 2,5 meters long and its surface is in black color.

3- There will be 5 barriers having the dimensions of 10x10x10 cm, 10x15x10 cm or 10x20x10 (width x  length x height)

4- The barriers will be situated in the very middle of the track in a linear position.

5- The distribution of the barriers in the track will be determined by drawing, after the robots that are going to compete are taken under surveillance. No robots will be included in the competition after the drawing. If there is any robots taken out from surveillance, that robots will be excluded.

6- The minimum distance between two barriers will be 40 cm.

7- The maximum distance between two barriers can be 80 cm.

9- Any robot that is out of the track will begin the race again and robot will be punished by 30 seconds. The robots which are out of the track 5 times will be disqualified.

10- Any robot that touches the barriers will be fined for 20 seconds for each barrier. If the robot crashes the barrier and stops* it will be put to the middle of the barrier it crashed and the previous barrier, in a linear position to the barriers and be fined for 30 seconds. If the robot crashes the same barrier and stops 3 times in a row, it will be disqualified.
